Most people would have checked to make sure they didn't need to do a million things to a building they bought! Not me!! The roof leaked, the walls were flaking, the air conditioner didn't work, and the very obvious thing we did know about-the front door was boarded up and glass was all over the place inside (a drunk driver actually had driven through the door). Also, the place had been vandalized and there was graffitti written all over walls, windows, the floor and it was written by someone who knew only a few words. You can guess-the one he knew the best, began with an "F". So, I scrubbed, scraped and fought with this for a while-then decided nail polish remover might be my weapon of choice on this stuff-it worked!!! However, it also took off the finish and the design on part of the floor tiles. The leaking roof was attacked by Nero (I think he finally got it to stop -fingers crossed). The painting inside and out we all shared (Nero, Sunni, Ian and I)-I was told to do something else!! I cleaned and cleaned and made myself sick by combining chemicals (just so you know-goof-off, Clorox and floor stripper, when layered one on top of the other give off a fume that will make you sick. This, of course, should not take much thinking about to realize-but if you know me well, you know there are times I just do whatever and think about it later! All and all, we spent weeks cleaning and repairing; and there is still more to do.
