I had a gift given to me the other day that was totally unexpected and is being appreciated by everyone who enters Karma! Sally and Michael, two of our customers offered to come and rearrange and redecorate Karma. Using what we already had, they spent the entire day Monday (with the aid of my BFF Cheri), removing clutter (sorry, I can no longer keep everything in the world at Karma!!). Also, organizing, relocating, decorating and displaying things in a much better way. Karma is looking great now, thanks to them.
How much did this cost me? Nothing!! They would not even accept a meager gift I offered them. In fact, Sally gave me a picture of hers to hang on the wall! How lucky I am to have such wonderful people come in to my life and help me!!! On days when I am getting discouraged, I now can look at one more gift I have been given.
There are people who are giving and help other without an expectation of repayment in this world. I am so lucky to have found two more! Every time I feel like gathering my marbles and going home, I think of all the people who have given freely to us and tried to get us through the "early stages" of opening a small business (which I think goes on and on, sometimes!). Kind gifts of time, flowers, wonderful fresh produce, sharing restaurant "combat" stories and helpful information, encouraging words and support; all this has come from many walks of lives and so many Karma Friends/Customers.
No matter what happens in the future, I will have these memories and kindnesses to remember the rest of my life.
