Whenever you here music, you feel a little better about life in general. We love music of all kinds and are interested in bringing the best local artists to Karma, not just for our guests, but for ourselves.
Music can take you back in a place in time, ahead to the future or keep you in the present; depending on the genre, the era, and your own life experiences. Tonight, as I listen to India and Keith, I know I will be brought back to a time in my life when I was a young girl wanted to make a difference in the world. Their music includes pieces that bring back memories of hopes for peace, moral progression and a desire to change a troubled world. I can remember singing Dylan's lyrics, "Oh, the times, they are a' changing" and thinking we are going to have a better world soon, back in the late 60's/early 70's. Isn't it funny that over 40 years later, I am still hoping for the same thing! Music from my youth is as prevalent today as it was at the time. Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Cat Stevens all sang of hope, peace and change-today we have young artists singing for the same things. We are now "Waiting for the world to change" (John Mayer) as opposed to waiting for the time to change (Bob Dylan)-different era, same thoughts. I am still there with John Lennon, imagining all the good things that could be.
Come out to Karma tonight, and whatever your age, the music will have a meaning you can take away and think (or dream) about. P
