We will be slowing updating and adding to our menu. All your favorites will be there, plus new additions. We are doing this in "baby step"-introducing new items as "specials" and then, based on popularity, adding them to the menu (or not). Check out the new menu on the menu page (yes, it has some gross spelling and language errors. I will carefully edit the final version!). Coming tomorrow!!! Certified Gluten Free Desserts!! Many people (my mom, included) can not eat gluten; others are choosing a gluten free diet as a healthier life style. We have always had gluten free options (we have three types of gluten free bread), but it is hard to bake for everyone in our Karma Kitchen. We could never be certified gluten free, as we have flour at Karma. However, I have found a baker who has certified gluten free desserts!! She will deliver them tomorrow and once a week (along with our Great Harvest Bread order), I will pick up my gluten free goodies and breads. Tomorrow, in my blog I will fill you all in on "Gluten Free", Certified, Celiacs Disease, and more-you all know me-I want you to have all the information!
Most of you know we are getting whole wheat bread from Great Harvest Bread-I have had a request to get my rye bread there also (Sheila had given me a sample and it is a hit). So, I think we will probably phase out our present, yet yummy rye for the Great Harvest one. Great Harvest bakes fresh bread daily, makes their own flour and has some yummy desserts (some of which are in the Karma Pastry Case along with my scones! Yes, I also need to get to Burlington and pick up some of Main Street Cake Shoppe Cupcakes. I bake a lot, but can't do everything and these things are wonderful. I did however stay until 11:20 pm making scones and cannolis! Just had to say that, lol).
Music nights are filling in and we have some wonderful people playing. Right now we are focusing on Saturdays. We have Wood Head this week from 7-9. Next Week Phase Lock. We have Terri Houston and her accompanist coming for two Saturdays in March; and a wonderful guitar/singer playing at lunch one week soon. I will get all these things posted or you can check on Reverb Nation for our schedule.
Okay, you all know I can keep going here, but you are probably filled with enough information!!! "Gluten Free-The Why, How and Where" is tomorrow's topic. We are still focusing on everyone: Vegetarian, Vegan, Of course, our Gluten Free People and.. the "Meatatrian" (I think I just made that up!!), a group I belong to!
Everyone have a wonderful day, visit Karma soon and often AND HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! Hugs, Lorna
